Mercury Gemini Astronauts: Superb John and Annie Glenn Autographs while in Taiwan Early 1960's, Scott Carpenter and Dick Gordon. In the early 1960's it is hard to articulate to a younger generation just how admired John Glenn was. He embodied an optimism and character that made him the perfect spokesperson for NASA and the media loved him. During this time he would sign his name as John H. Glenn, Jr. which is a great way to narrow in on the general date of any of his signatures. Here he has signed a brochure for the stunning Grand Hotel Taipei and his wife of 73 years, Annie Glenn signing just below in blue fountain pen ink. Brochure is very late 50's early 60's and the hotel at present day is now a modern, expansive and gleaming landmark.
