Early 20th Century Japanese Origingal Bird Prints. "Exquisite Birds of the World". Beautiful Early 20th Century Japanese hand painted watercolors and woodblock prints of exceptional quality. These prints were bound in a folio of 16 offset and duo-tone printings of birds.
Carefully removed from a near destroyed cover folio, the watercolors do have the slits used to thread the decorative ribbon ties as well as the more secure pair of staple holes on the outermost right borders. Fortunately they can be easily trimmed or matted out. The actual watercolors are vibrant, exquisitely detailed and in remarkably fine condition. Condition is overall excellent with a soft corner or two and overall, but light age toning. 17.5 x 12.75" these are large prints that impress. On the verso, one can see the bleed through of the watercolors.
Hand painted Japanese bird watercolors can command upwards to several thousands each making this particular lot a fine opportunity for the new collector.
