Original Muster Roll of Company K of the 82nd Regiment of USCI from Oct. 31 to Dec 31 1865. What is remarkable is the muster involves the Union Army who held Fort Jefferson (the largest brick masonry structures ever built) not only for a prison but to secure the Gulf. In 1861 the fort received its first prisoner of which many were Union criminals. Fort Jefferson remained under construction until 1874 and soon downsized to a mere garrison given hurricanes and illness. It is now a popular site to visit. Estimated Value.
